Waves
are shimmering in the late evening light ... with
Mt. Redoubt a clear silhouette against the yellows and golds of
the setting sun.
This is the view
from the Kenai Peninsula, across the waters of Alaska's Cook Inlet.
The mountains there are active volcanoes - Augustine, Iliamna, Redoubt,
Spurr.
Winters find these
volcanoes deep in snow and echoing shades of blue and purple. While
summer does not release them totally from the bonds of snow, it
brings a softening to the mountains that ties them into the vivid
greens that show so well during Alaska's long summer days.
I am truly blessed to live in this beautiful country.
